Course venue

Broughtonknowe

Two miles north of the village of Broughton, Broughtonknowe is a privately owned mixed woodland, planted some 35 years ago. It is 45 minutes by car from Edinburgh on the A701, or 30 minutes from Moffat. The courses take place in a stunning disused quarry, which provides shelter from the winds and a beautiful green backdrop. There is a timber workshop for when it's wet and windy, and on fine days we can work outside.

There is a washroom, shower and composting toilet on site, plus cooking facilities. Rainwater is harvested for washing etc. and filtered for drinking. There is 3G network. The quarry is off-grid but there is a 12v supply from PV panels. Camping is possible by negotiation and there are B & Bs locally.

2021 Courses: May 17 - 21, June 14 - 18, July 12 - 16, Aug 30 - Sept 3, Sept 20 - 24
